Learn how you can add Oral Surgery Services to your dental clinic or DSO
DSO’s, Orthodontists, and Dentists find the OMS Consulting model helps their practice and patients.
With OMS Consulting, you can easily increase the valuation of your practice or DSO immediately by adding oral surgery as a vertical revenue stream, while also serving our mission of providing oral surgery and anesthesia access to all adolescent patients, regardless of payer or geography.
What we do.
We perform wisdom teeth extractions for dental clinics in multiple states. Through our proven framework and training, our team of surgeons and nurses can manage a higher number of wisdom teeth extractions than would normally be possible for an independent surgeon to do in one day.
How.
Our surgery day coordinators work with the clinic staff to create an efficient schedule that allows for high volume surgery days. Our collaborative approach with dental owners and DSO’s is a critical part of the process and one of the primary reasons for our success. Patients will be confirmed, drugs will be ordered, and supplies will be ready several days prior to a scheduled surgery day.
Why.
The traveling oral surgery model allows for patients to receive care in underserved locations and it gives oral surgeons an opportunity to make additional income working part-time. Many oral surgeons in private practice, military service, and academic positions work with us because OMS Consulting presents a flexible way to increase their incomes without conflicting with their existing obligations.
How we do what we do is important but why we do it is a story worth telling

What’s holding you back?
If you’re an Oral Surgeon working as an Independent Contractor
Are you experiencing these frustrations?
Low Volume.
When you work with OMS Consulting, you’ll never have low volume days with 10 or 12 wisdom teeth cases. Surgery days are planned several weeks in advance to ensure the schedule has the maximum number of cases the surgeon can safely perform in one day. We guarantee a minimum number of patients or the surgery day is canceled.
No Nurses or Poorly Trained Assistants.
We commonly hear from surgeons all over the country and one of the common complaints is that they struggle to move quickly because they don’t have the help they need. In many cases, they are given assistants that have never worked with an oral surgeon. Others tell us they have no help at all and are left to handle the surgery, recovery, and consult process all by themselves. This is why we provide no less than two ER nurses and two dental assistants, all with prior surgery training, to assist each surgeon.
Offices aren’t setup for Oral Surgery.
Are you tired of performing surgeries in dental chairs or being limited to one or two rooms for surgeries, consults, and recoveries? Are you tired of traveling with your supplies or finding that an office is missing necessary equipment? We hear these stories often and by working with OMS Consulting you can avoid these unnecessary frustrations. Our dedicated team of surgery day coordinators are working diligently to make sure every office is properly equipped and staffed for an upcoming surgery day.
-
Nurses
Our team of trained nurses allow our surgeons to be safer and faster. Each surgeon will have two nurses and two dental assistants each day to help with procedures and recovery.
-
Compliance
HIPAA compliant communication between clinics and surgeons. Proprietary patient forms for patient consults. Automated tracking systems for drug logs, licensing, permits, and certifications.
-
Support
Dentists are trained to screen patients, reducing the risk of complications. Office staff will be trained for high volume surgery days and all equipment, instruments, and supplies will be provided.
If you’re a DSO or Dental Owner providing oral surgery services in your clinic
Are you experiencing these frustrations?
Recruiting Productive Surgeons.
It’s difficult for a DSO to give their attention to oral surgery when their primary business model is building a successful dental practice. When you’re focused on developing a dental practice, it’s hard to give time and focus to recruiting productive oral surgeons.
Managing Multiple Contracts.
Engaging oral surgeons individually as independent contractors means negotiating a new contract each time with every provider. Rather than having several contracts with various terms to manage, what if you could have one contract, one point of contact, and one service team for all of the clinics in your DSO?
Compliance and Back Office Support.
When engaging oral surgeons separately, most will not have a team behind them to help with equipment, drug orders, compliance, and scheduling. This often results in the surgeon turning to the DSO for help and places more demands and expectations on the clinics. With so many independent contractors to manage, it’s difficult to know with certainty if all have renewed their licenses, DEA’s, GA Permits, and if all are exchanging PHI in a HIPAA compliant format. By contracting with OMS Consulting, DSO’s can provide oral surgery services in their clinics with confidence, knowing each surgeon has the back office support and compliance oversight they need.
